What they’re saying

I joined CrossFit Westport in June 2018.  I do the Senior Fit program and It’s been a game-changer.  I am much stronger than I’ve ever been … ever … and it’s fun!  The coaches are terrific and pay attention to each of us, in terms of form and ability.  They pay attention to injuries and weaknesses and adjust as needed.  Besides the fitness element, the community is warm and embracing.  Before the world closed, there were regular fund-raising events for great causes.  Since the pandemic, Amy has been continually adapting, first giving classes via zoom then, when able, offering outdoor and indoor classes.  The Senior Fit program is currently being given via Zoom.  Our coach, Sergeant Lori, pushes us while still keeping a close eye on us.  My husband and I are huge fans!

I am so glad I joined this gym, it’s been a game changer for me in my aim for a more healthy lifestyle. Starting as a complete novice with only running for exercise I felt welcomed and encouraged by everyone, both coaches and members alike, encouraged to try crazy new moves and to work harder for better all round fitness. The WODS are challenging and always different, scaled to each individual’s abilities. The coaches are great, very professional, always attentive, encouraging and watching form.
The many different classes and outdoor bootcamps make it easy to find a session to fit busy lifestyles  and the really great community makes the challenges each day brings and getting together for events such fun. Way to go WTF/Crossfit Westport.

I was always too scared to try CrossFit. I thought about trying it for years but convinced myself that I was not in good enough shape to even start doing it. Instead, I tried countless other exercise routines (running, boot camps, at-home videos) and they never worked for me over the longer-term. Finally, a friend of mine convinced me to try a class at CrossFit Westport and that one class is all it took for me to be hooked.  I signed up that day and have been there for over 5 years now.

CrossFit Westport welcomes people from all walks of life. The coaches at CrossFit Westport are caring, encouraging and look out for each individual member. They will modify and cater each workout to a persons specific needs.  I was able to work out throughout my entire pregnancy because of the close eye of the coaches.

CrossFit Westport has become much more than just a place to workout for me. It is a place I go to escape, take a break, and clear my head. It has not only gotten me in great physical shape but also has helped me to get into a better mental and emotional space.  I owe this all to the coaches and members at CrossFit Westport.

joined Crossfit Westport in June of 2019 and have been quite pleased with my experience.  As a sports chiropractor, I see many CrossFit  athletes/patients in office and  decided to finally give it a try.   The preconceived notion that I hear amongst many  medical professionals is that CrossFit is bad for you and will only lead to injury. After my first week I was extremely impressed by the emphasis  placed on adequate warm ups and mobility, in addition to the meticulous attention  that was taken by the coaching staff when properly instructing  complex movements with adequate technique.  The coaches really push you in a safe manner and understand how to properly scale according to your fitness level and/or prior injuries.  Being at the facility for over a year I  still find the same enjoyment when completing a hard workout that i did back when i first started.

Additionally, I would say that the community rivals the quality of service at CFW. The members are warm and welcoming. Even as a new member you feel like you have been a part of the facility for years.
For anyone looking to challenge their bodies in a safe and productive manner, while also having fun, then CFW is the place to go.

Plain and simple, this place is awesome. The coaches are fantastic, incredibly knowledgeable, friendly, encouraging, focus on safety, inclusion and help scale workouts to fit anyone’s fitness needs. As a former collegiate athlete, I can tell you it’s not easy to push yourself or even match the same intensity when working out by yourself but here at CrossFit Westport you can do just that. On top of the great coaching staff Amy has assembled there’s an even better community of people. They welcomed me the first day I stepped foot in the Box for my On Ramp as if they had known me my whole life.
If you’re curious about CrossFit or thinking, “I need to change up my routine.”, or asking yourself “How can I take my workouts to the next level?”,  then I couldn’t recommend CFW more.

I thought I was too old for this.  I thought it was for guys.  I thought I was in the best shape of my life.  I thought there were so many reasons not to try crossfit.  A friend nudged me to an on-ramp session and it has been five years. I am often the oldest person in the room and generally the smallest. I typically don’t do prescribed weights as they are too heavy for me.  I do what makes sense.  I am challenged by the coaches but from the starting-point that makes sense for me.  And, I have done things I NEVER thought I could.
The transformation has been more than physical.  Crossfit is a place you check-in with yourself emotionally, a place where you build resilience and test your determination.   I carry the work-outs with me.  And when I think about the next 10 or 20 years, I can’t believe how much more active I’ll be and how much more fun I’ll have because I took that one on-ramp class five years ago.
